Former Massey University Professor and religious history expert Peter Lineham explains how no one is willing to acknowledge Christian persecution even though it is know to society because it is a politically sensitive topic. He explains how Western countries are sensitive about their Muslim minorities, and are afraid to bend too much towards Christians because it would cause protests from secular sides of government and Muslim minorities.

This article addresses how and why there is little coverage in today's media about the persecutions of Christians.

There is much persecution and discrimination of all religions worldwide, but not close to the amount of persecution Christians receive. There is no other religious group that has been persecuted as much as Christians. However, we rarely hear about persecution of Christians in the media today.

There are many reasons why Christian persecution isn’t highlighted in daily news. Christians have been the dominant religion in the West for almost 2,000 years and some people believe that its status needs to change. This results in media types under reporting Christian Persecution, as if it has no relevance. According to this article, Britain’s Foreign Secretary, Mr.Hunt calls this, “political correctness,” and that it covers the truth about Christian persecution.

Most persecutions of Christians today are against poor and non-white people. This could mean that there is also some sort of bias towards minorities in Western media.

This article talks about how political correctness has influenced the under coverage of Christian persecution in media today.

Political correctness has influenced society to ignore the fact that Christians are the most persecuted religious group, and include some of the poorest people in the world.

A report ordered by Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt revealed that the persecution of Christians in some parts of the world in at near "genocide" level and that "political correctness" had played a part in the issue not being confronted.
Hunt also added that he "[thinks] there is a misplaced worry that it is somehow colonialist to talk about a religion that was associated with colonial powers rather than the countries that we marched into as colonizers.”
Both political correctness and colonialism play a large role in why Christian Persecution is ignored by the media.
