Christianity: The World's Most Prosecuted Religion

Analysis of Video

Noting that Christians are the most persecuted religion in the world is an important topic for media to address as it is often overlooked and ignored in today's world. Not many people know that Christians are highly persecuted around the world and it is a problem that needs to be addressed. The speaker of the video emphasized how Christians are most persecuted in Muslim majority countries. That even in Muslim countries that are portrayed as moderate, Christian minorities are under pressure to not build churches and exercise their religion freely. The point of view that is given in this media source is that Muslim extremists are viewed as the bad guys and Christians are the target of their evil ways. This stirs up mixed emotions as many Muslims are also executed across the world, which is also a major problem. Many people sympathize towards Muslim execution but don’t acknowledge the many Muslims who persecute Christians. The video uses many photographs of geographical areas in the Middle East to help watchers visualize where the persecution is happening and where Christianity started and spread. This helps establish credibility with the source as many statistics of Christian persecution are shown in different middle eastern countries, and many examples of the persecution are pointed out.
